Introducing me

Hi, I am Brittany and am a barefoot runner.  I have been running for about three years now and began barefoot running about four months ago.  I decided to begin this blog because I believe more and more people are becoming interested in barefoot running and aren't sure where to begin.  When I began my adventure of barefoot running, the first thing I did was look at other barefoot runners' blogs, as I realized they were the real experts.  Now, I am definitely not an expert; quite the contrary in fact.  I am a new barefoot runner and simply wish to grow and learn with others who are interested in becoming barefoot runners.  Being a barefoot runner means you are in the minority, especially being a girl.  You can expect to be stared at when racing, or when simply out on a run.  For some, this can be daunting; however, for others, myself included, this is part of the fun of barefoot running.  On my first run barefoot, there were two major things that made me decide then and there, I had found my passion.  The first was that in some way, I felt like I was doing something wrong; I liked that.  The other was that I felt this huge sense of freedom.  In the world we live in, I yearn for and need a sense of freedom in my life.  Barefoot running, to some extent, satisfies this need.
